I see nothing at all wrong with the journalist's bio. But I still don't understand it being appended to this obituary. I doubt that she had anything to do with that.

          I took a quick look.    The website ( ocregister dot com) automatically appends a pre-written bio for any staffer whose name is listed for an article.   This particular blurb about the reporter wasn't designed for the tragic story itself.    Since it's not customized for each article, it seems to me it would be prudent and more professional to write bios that would be appropriate at the end of any article no matter what the news topic is.
