I'm confused...I looked at the article on line and didn't see the reporters bio at the end of the article.  Only saw her bio when I clicked on her name in the credit for the article. Am I missing something?

Okay, this probably won't be of interest to anyone here on the forum, but I find the last 3 words in this "newswriter's tag" at the bottom of a newspaper report of a very sad child drowning quite odd.  It certainly strikes me as borderline unprofessional.

I think I get what your saying.........that here's a sad story about a child drowning, and her the supposed journalist is joking about her alcohol habits, and maybe her gin drinking isnt very professional for a tag line, especially one dealing with the death of a child..................

P.S. I concur professional journalism has definitely died...............

I understand the post.

I don't understand why a reporter would have so much personal info after each and every story she wrote. (If I am understanding this correctly). I'm not that intersted (usually) in a reporters personal life.

Perhaps this a new thing?

Perhaps, the reporter should lay off of the "good gin". That way, he/she wouldn't confuse journalism with a dating profile

Okay, I read the article of the girl who accidentally drowned, from the Registars page, and at the end of the article, is a short bio of three reporters.

Is that what all the fuss is about?

Maybe this journalist is unprofessional, but she is by no means indicative of all the truly great journalists out there. It is "fake news" spread around to demean the media just when  we need them the most.

Sorry that my post confused many of you. I have just never seen this type of thing tagged on to an article. I was struck that a reference to liking good gin was included in her short bio.  Just found it odd.  This story was about a neighbor of my daughter. The pool is right across the street from her home. Perhaps that affected my mood.  Blessin s to the family.
