They are nominated by SAG members and voted by SAG members. Everyone who is a member of SAG gets a copy of nominated work, is asked to view the work and vote. No films are to be shared with anyone but the member.

Which brings me to the thought. There is so much animosity or favoritism in this business. Jobs and lively hood sometimes hinged on who wins. From the actors, directors,stunt men, to those that deliver and clean the honey wagons. So in the Oscar case, talent and the body of work are sometimes not the focal point. JMHO and a thought only.

I remember when Steven Spielberg was snubbed many times for a well deserved Oscar because of some other issues not related to his work.

I was surprised when she was nominated for a Golden Globe.

There are far more skilled actors and actresses that were snubbed.
