My husband and I were recently made aware of a teenage who is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. The girl is a friend of a family friend of ours. They are asking everyone they know who is an O neg to go get tested to see if they are a match. I am an A pos. but my Dh is an O neg and when he heard about this girl he wanted the chance to help. But before we contact them to go ahead with testing we were wondering, With him being our only source of income with me being a stay at home mom how would this work? Does either our or her insurance pay us for missed work? It really makes me sick to ask but while he is recovering(if he is a match) we would still have rent to pay and groceries to buy.
Just wondering if anyone knows.
Thank you in advance.
