We have an 11 week old Golden puppy. We have been crate training her which is going very well. She sleeps through the night and is fine in the crate while we are away for short periods during the day. She has never had an accident in there. We have the crate in a gated off area between our kitchen and dining room, so even if the gates are up she is still right in the middle of the family action. We take her out A LOT and most times she does her business. We have the area covered with a tarp for obvious reasons, we also keep her food/water in there, toys and mat for her to lay down on. She really has the popping outside thing down, but often times even if she has just peed outside she will come and and pee on the tarp, mostly if we leave the "pen" area even for a couple of minutes. I don't want to crate her every time we leave the area. I feel like she does SO well sleeping in there all night I don't want it to become a negative in anyway. Any suggestions to curtail the peeing inside. Am I expecting too much too soon?? Any help would be great.
