Somehow I twisted my lower back was hurting and bit painful.  DH comes in with 'sticky patches ' various kinds 'this'll fix it love don't worry'.

DH watching Euro soccer and as he puts it 'come her I'll slap this patch on' result - England still playing DH has patch stuck on his hands nothing on my lower back.  DH washes hands gets new patch - result stuck on - England still playing!   Aaah the relief!

After hour or so my back sore as patch 'digging' in me.  Go and check half patch stuck on other half still has filmy packing paper on all twisted and digging in me.   There you go.

DH  soccer now over - England a load of rubbish - don't worry love got plenty of patches get your bum over here I'll put another one on'.  Oh the caring!   Can't wait for the next England game. Lol.

When the game is over (of course), send dh to the drug store for a tube of Voltaren and an ice pack.  Rub the Voltaren on your back several times a day and sit with the ice pack on your back for 20 min intervals.

For heaven's sake don't stand in the shower with hot water coming on it.  You'll increase the inflamation.

Try/Buy this!

Equate (Walmarts brand) Pain Relief Cream 4% Lidocaine HCI Topical Analgesic

About $4 and change   It's a roll on.

Instant relief and will make your pain manageable.

Hope you get better.   Beats all the name brand products out there.

@Kachina624 @ECBG   Thanks for advice will take it.

Never experienced this kind of ailment before now couple days on England played second game - still 'patching'  - England still rubbish -  however I have decided to get into pool tomorrow- patchless -  as I miss my water aerobics can take it easy and my back feels better when I am moving not sitting.

@Mistreatedbycs   DH bought some more patches with Lidocaine. But your roll up sounds better - hate ripping the patches off!  Thank you.

For some reason those patches with lidocaine do not work, I have no idea why.

Using this roll on gets right into the area and it works.

4% is the highest percentage of lidocaine you can buy over the counter, if you get a prescription the percentage increases by 1%, yes, to 5%, which of course is a "why bother" moment

@Mistreatedbycs    I had good luck with prescription Lidocaine patches but used Aspercream with 4% Lidocaine and it did nothing for me.  It also comes in a roll-on.

@Mistreatedbycs  Thanks for your input.

It is  DH's day to pick grandson up from summer school then they 'do' McDonald's.  - the pharmacy is next door so have given him info on roll on.

Be interesting to see what comes back!  In with a chance as England  not playing today!
