One of the best things I got from the Q board is....

For me it's recipes. Some years ago ,we all  chipped in recipes and made a  cookbook.

We had some wonderful cooks...One recipe  I made today ,is from the Qboard and not the cookbook

It was given by Snugglebunny, and its for stuffed pepper soup.  I tweaked it a bit for us, and it is so easy and satisfying

... the wonderfully diverse and fascinating posters, who are willing to share experience, knowledge, resources, advice, support, life stories, humor, (and sometimes the needed "I never thought of it that way" or "I need to look in my own mirror" moments ).   I've learned so much here, so I never could summarize or select specifics.   Even though I can get aggravated at times, or even annoyed with myself for what I post, I'm grateful for the community of human beings out there on the other side of the nicknames.

I've made some good friends here.  I am still in regular contact with one.   She's a wonderful person whose friendship I cherish.

Friendship, companionship and education.  Even educated on threads I never posted on.  There are a lot of intelligent people in this world and many right here for us to talk/type with.

The electronics forum, the people who share on there are pretty smart when it comes to technology.

An awakening of different views. I think with my circle of people it kept me in a bubble of only my thinking. I am talking about before Facebook, once Facebook came along I soon learned oh yeah the world is full of "all kinds"

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Re: One of the best things I got from the Q board is....

I have not been on the Forums for very long, but what I received was validation, I posted of my experience of being bullied as an adult, and almost everyone in my personal life (family) have made me feel horrible for standing up for myself and finally saying "Enough Is Enough" and walking away, I have heard comments like "Your just so sensitive", "Just pick yourself back up and move on" and my favorite "Oh stop being so dramatic", so I was dealing with the pain over what was done to me, and then to top it all off I was being told all over again that what I was feeling was not valid, I was afraid of what might result in my posting here, and in most responses I felt acceptance that me walking away was the right decision and that I did not deserve that kind of treatment, so thank you, I have been carrying around guilt for a number of years, and now I am able to walk with a lighter load!

The friendships I've developed with a few posters, two of which I hope to meet one day.

Road trip with these two would be crazy fun Heart

Re: One of the best things I got from the Q board is....

It is nice to be able to have little conversations with strangers, to be able to ask a group for help or a solution to life’s bumps in the road…like how to do something, or get rid of something (like bugs or mice, etc.), to get a fresh idea or opinion when you are stuck but need to move forward. I have found good recipes, good tips, solutions and ideas from people willing to share. I have read stories that made me appreciate what I have when I may have taken good times for granted. There have been shared experiences of courage and bravery that made me feel in awe of some of the people who post here. People here have helped me see things from a different perspective than I had and have taught me to remain open. There is an honesty and openness with strangers on a forum that you do not necessarily experience in person. I know… you can’t trust everyone or believe everything you read – and there are always some who just want to provoke others. But for me, it adds an extra dimension that I have found enjoyable. I look forward to checking in to see what is new & interesting on the board.
