One Good Reason I Shop at QVC

Another break in and robbery of a nice store. The employees had to stand and watch. Security can't do anything. The police are worried about their jobs if anything goes wrong. It is so sad.

They interviewed one of the store's managers. She said the items would end up on Amazon or Poshmark.

I try not to order from 3rd party sellers on Amazon, but I have a few times in the past. I'm not familiar with Poshmark. It wasn't that long ago they didn't exist.

But I know when I order from QVC I am safe from buying stolen merchandise.

I appreciate your sentiment @beach-mom @but I don't think that's a fair statement about police officers. Most police officers are brave, dedicated, and are always willing to jump in harms way for our protection.

Are you referring to the Nordstrom's Flash Mob smzsh nd grab?

I don't buy things sold through third paties either.  I can afford to buy direct retail.

Same on those that did the crime.  Aren't they embarassed to do things like that?  It's a shme they don't think much of themselves that they have to resort to stealing instead of having gainful employment like most folks.

The Albuquerque police chief just sent a letter to Walgreens telling then to get their act together and lock up their liquor.  Thugs were loading up backpacks and walking out the door on a daily basis.  It's costing taxpayers millions in policing expenses plus poses a danger to customers.

I agree with you @Goldengate8361, and I didn't do a very good job saying what I did. I spent early yesterday afternoon with a chief of police working on a project, and I have quite a few friends, who are police officers.

You are so right. They WOULD do anything they could, but often they can't get there in time. And according to one I've talked to, their superiors tell them to be very, very careful if they encounter a store robbery like this. They see their coworkers being charged for looking at someone the wrong way, and someone filming it of course. The public respect for them has changed, sadly. And I don't know what can make things better for them.

I wasn't @Puzzle Piece, but a lot of Nordstrom stores have been robbed too.

@beach-mom   I find it hard to believe police are "being charged for looking at someone the WRONG way."  That is just not true.

Unfortunately, through the years, we have seen "bad apple" police doing illegal things while on duty.  The majority of police officers are wonderful, willing to put their lives on the line to save others.

When you see police officers brutalizing civilians it makes you very cautious about dealing with law enforcement, especially if you are an African American male.  A simple traffic stop could result into far more life altering situations.

If some police officers are afraid to do their duty, dirty looks or someone filming them, that profession is not for them and they should search for a new career.

Six law officers in Mississippi broke into a home, without a warrant, and tortured two black men for hours.

They have been fired and have plead quilty.

Google it if you want details.
