Hi Birding Friends, I just found the below photo of a Great Gray Owl and thought I'd go ahead and post it before it got "buried" way down on some of my boards. I'd sure love to see a Great Gray, but their range is pretty far north of here, in Canada and maybe some of the Northern tier of states. Lucky photographer or maybe I should say, patient and talented. ![]()

mousiegirl, thanks for sharing the Germack Lady thread.
You're welcome, Puddles.
I am glad to hear that you will not have to wait too long for the surgery and again, wishing you all the best. I never knew the story, but one night, I spent hours going back through your posts and finally found your DH's post explaining the situation. What an ordeal!

Puddles, I am very happy to read that your surgery is going to occur sooner rather than later. I am not familiar with your story either, but am sure that for it to get to the point of surgery, you had to have been having a hard time of it.
Possummink - I would settle for seeing any owl in the wild. I guess I need to get into the woods up north more. The great gray is indeed magnificent.

Bonus picture for Halloween - little brown bat. I've had 3 experiences with bats. Once was up close and personal - one got into my workplace - the screams across the floor gave it away. I was able to catch it and gently release it outside. I think they are cute.
Help yourself to some candy

Happy Halloween, Birding Friends,
I am still hauling in banana plants, amaryllises, and other tender stuff as it's supposed to get into the 27 degree range tonight. Thank goodness my brother was off today and got his new tractor with the front loader out to haul the bananas in from the garden to the basement steps, almost. I have to put them inside now along with the amaryllises and a few other plants. Some houseplants are in, the rest are covered with an old comforter on the front porch. Hope that holds them ok.
Be back later. Have fun with the trick and treaters.
