I'd take babies in strollers over those skulls of dead animals some people use in Southwest motifs. Even stuffed deer heads creep me out.

Re: OK, This Creeped Me Out.

Even as a child I was never interested in dolls. The dolls may be creepy but they will all go when the house is sold. Maybe the homeowner has a business that sells them. Now if the homeowner was into collecting snakes and reptiles that's another story. I would be forever looking around to see if she or he might have missed a few and they were hiding in the house. Dolls are weird but harmless.

Re: OK, This Creeped Me Out.

My mom collected antique dolls (among other things).  She had a room where all her dolls were displayed.  Not creepy to her or other collectors who visited, but seriously weird to me.  After she passed, it took Dad and I several years to sell all of them.

(we're still trying to sell Mom's extensive cut glass collection - anyone?)

While it is odd why pass up a house because of the decor?  You own things will be there when you move in.

In this day and age of total weirdness by many, who really knows if it will all really go away.

People have all types of collections.   The list is endless.  Obviously the owner loved enjoyed and was very proud of their collection and display choice.

A creepy collection would be death, murderous, evil type objects.

Re: OK, This Creeped Me Out.

It's not a listing for a roommate, so the dolls don't matter. If you like the house and you're ready to buy and the price is right, or close, I'd consider making an offer. The dolls are going to turn off a lot of people, so the owners might just go for a lowball. That room never should have been included in the photos. Turn the agent's mistake to your advantage.

Re: OK, This Creeped Me Out.

I happened to catch a "Wife Swap" show last week with one wife who had a Doll room. Of  course the wife that switched had all the dolls removed and the owner came home and put them all back.  They were  mostly on shelves some in strollers. Other issues came up of course.

It would creep me out to see an Occult room with objects displayed or an Occult  worship area.

I have my Mother's and Aunt`s Baby Dimple dolls. One is the size of a six month baby sitting on an old Commode chest from my Grandmother. They only got one item for Christmas during the Depression.

Re: OK, This Creeped Me Out.

I have a friend who loves those dolls, she has several. I found out when I went to visit and stayed in her guest room. She had them wrapped in blankets and displayed on a chair. One little boy doll had a really creepy, angry face. I took a picture and texted it to my son. He called him Chucky. Google it, spot on.

He was staring at me while I laid in bed so I threw a spare blanket over the whole lot of them. Finally got to sleep lol.
