I'm 71 and was in 10th grade world history class. I recall all the details of the next 4 days. Can never forget it.

I bet everyone old enough remembers that day well. I was in art class when the announcement came over the PA system. It also was my mother's birthday, so I always remember the date as well.

I was alive but too young to remember. My parents RARELY talked about anything going on in the world when I was growing up. I wish they would have. History and geography were always my worst subjects, and if my family had talked more about world events at the time, I think I would have an easier time of understanding and remembering it all now.

I was a month shy of my second birthday sitting with my Mom & Dad in a diner in California. We had just moved to San Diego from Texas. A few minutes after it all began on the television my Mom told me someone in the Diner called out wanting to know who owned the car sitting out in the parking lot with Texas plates? Mom said she and Daddy just looked at each other, did not speak or acknowledge question. Took there time eating and when all were occupied with the coverage again gathered up me and my one year old little brother and slipped out. No other instances in the preceding days to follow with Texas plates on the car.

I was in the school library when it was broadcast over the school intercom. I did not understand the gravity of the situation at age 8. I do not really remember much of any of it at that age. Hardly really a memory.

I was a 16 year old freshman in college. My boyfriend (now my husband of 55 years) was just about to drop me off at my freshman writing class after lunch when we heard the announcement on the radio that JFK had been shot. I went to my class and announced what I had heard. Nobody believed me. However, when our instructor came in, he announced the death of the President and we were dismissed. I walked back to my dorm, where we cried and hugged each other.

I was a sophomore in high school. It was announced over the PA system while I was in English class. I remember the funeral with the riderless horse. A very sad time.

I was working at US Continental Army Comand at Ft Monroe, VA. My husband was stationed there and came in the office telling us he had just heard the news.
Shock and disbelief, at first, then people including my boss going across the street to the church to pray.
The following days were watching t v and seeing Oswald shot.
I won't forget that day!
