Not counting days at work, but days at home, do you eat meals by the clock?

My husband eats by the clock. 12 noon is his lunch time.   Same when his dinner time rolls around.  For me, like lunch, since I rise earlier in the day, I eat around 11:00.  He just isn't as flexable as I am with that.

Question is, do you eat according to what the clock says, or can you eat when you're hungry, off the clock, so to speak?

Definitely off the clock for me.  When my kids were small we were on more of a routine, though.

I'm retired, and when I retired I swore I would never again be ruled by a clock!

I eat when I feel like eating.

I live alone and don't have to cater to another person so I eat when I get hungry.  I may not eat dinner until 11pm or later or not at all.

I eat when I'm hungry and if dinner happens to be ready by 4:30 then that's when I'll eat it.

I'll also don't follow rules when it comes to when I eat what.  If there happens to be a leftover and I want it for breakfast then that's what I will have.  I have been known to eat chicken parm or fried rice for breakfast.

We always eat dinner around 5-5:30.

Once the kids go back to school and it's just the two of us, I have no idea what's going to happen.  LOL

We don't like to eat late anyway.  6 pm is about the latest we'll eat dinner.

No, I don't really eat by the clock BUT I practice Intermittent Fasting and don't snack. With my IF there is a general schedule but I'll go longer or eat sooner depending on hunger or schedule of other things going on in my life.

I live alone but I know myself well enough to know I don't change what I know is good/healthy for me because anyone else wants me to do things "their way." It sometimes leads to interesting conversations and may make others a bit uncomfortable even though it shouldn't. When with others, I'm fine with them eating when I am not. But I'm not going to cook them multiple meals/snacks for a schedule I don't keep. They can do that themselves. lol

Not really going by the time on the clock, but the way it fits in to the day's routine. For example, I usually get up at 6 and work out. I then make breakfast and DH is up around 7.  On Sunday's that goes out the window as we go to church service at 8 and typically have breakfast around 10 AM.

I generally don't eat what I fix everyone else unless they're just eating veggies and/or a salad with me.

I do serve meals for the grandkids when they're here at a certain time.

My husband is flexible as am I, but I do try to feed him as close to a schedule so he's not eating wierd hours.

I have for decades eaten only when my body needs fuel. Time of the 24 hours has nothing to with when or what I consume.

Ever read the many studies they have done on this? Put volunteers in a room, with lots of food, and with a clock on the wall. Next, same size group and same amount of food, no clock on the wall. Guess which group eats much more of the food!

Hint!!! More like your husband than myself**. I have never been a slave to any clock when it comes when I do what, when I have choices. I am regimented in my life, kinda, but never to any extreme. I like to "flow with the time", not have it dictate when I do what?

Studies also show that those that follow the clock for eating time, tend to carry much more fat tissue than those that do not.

 Edited To Change **
