Mom, less rain than expected but the Sierras did get a foot of snow. Rain tomorrow, new storm Sunday. I've planned a family pajama party all weekend: movies & comfort food Smiley Happy That cute doggie isn't mine, just came with the weather photos, but he sure is cute!

Oh good Noel... sounds like you are all set for a warm, fun and snuggling weekend with the family. Also good news about the snow.

Yes shoekitty, we live in Anaheim (Orange County). Still hoping for a bit of your rain to get down here tomorrow.

You guys have a nice weekend. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

No wind here! The rain update changed all day, postponing the rain that was due about 12 noon. It started raining hard here about 6pm. Then they cut off a day. It was suppose to rain until Monday, but Monday now has a 30% chance.

You are farther South of me I think. Are you around Steinbeck country?

SK, I think Mom is SoCal.

Oh for some reason I thought you were in Monterey or there abouts! We are in Santa Clara County. I am on the very edge.

Noel

I am never very clear. LOL!{#emotions_dlg.blush}

Oh so you are by the Bay? I heard it was very windy there. My dear friend lives on the hill in San Carlos, and she said it was howling, She is in an area heavy with Eucalyptus and they were just swaying near her windows like palm trees, and she got a little nervous.

Mom!

Oh, I remember you were near Disney. That is the city that never fails to have a heat wave as soon as I get off the plane. When my GD first graduated from college, she worked as Tinkerbell at Disney! It got mighty hot there, especially with costume, wig and make-up, LOL! You have not had rain yet? Did you get the rain about 10 days ago? My GD is in Toluca Hills (near Studio City and Burbank), as I said. She said it rained hard (for Burbank),for 4 days.. she was in 7th heaven. She kept texting me, "it's raining, gma it is still raining!" It's a sad thing indeed when we think rain is close to a miracle occurrence?. She misses NoCal so much. She has to live there because she is in the industry. She misses the North, and her favorite place Capitola and Santa Cruz! She says it is hard to find a day she can wear her Uggs.

I was just thinking. The last heavy rains I remember were in 1997. It rained from November until about May. We had floods, mud slides, day after day of rain. I think it was that year we broke a record, it rained every day but ONE day in January. iWe had days of rain, steady without stopping. I almost have forgotten that is possible.

Wow shoekitty, your GD was Tinkerbell!! Very cool. All 4 of my daughters have worked summer jobs at Disneyland. It's a good place to work.

The rain your GD got in Burbank was only a drizzle here. However the big storm in December, we got over 5" of rain. Hardly anything since.

I remember 1997-1998 during the El Nino year you are talking about. We had over 41" of rain. We live in Anaheim Hills and the houses on the hills above us were sliding down to the street. It was so scary.

Since then the rainfall totals have steadily decreased. I am glad you are getting rain up there now as long as you and Noel don't get any flooding.

Stay dry and warm. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Evening ladies. On the 6 p.m. news from Sacramento they said my town got .60 inches of rain and the town over got 1.10 inches of rain. They showed a lot of wind damage from around Sacramento and then up towards Placerville.

Hi Dell!

We were supposed to get more rain in The City by now today, but nada so far.

The Santa Rosa area got 8 inches yesterday, most of the storm was in the North Bay.

Good morning Ladies,

It's amazing how different the news reports are compared to what is actually happening on the ground!! {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

So far nothing but blue skies and 62 degrees down here.
