Good Morning, Mom! Smile

I listened carefully to the weather last night. With the coming storm, they're expecting up to 8 inches of rain in part of CA way up north of us.

The Bay Area is expected to get 2 to 4 inches of rain.

Rain has been predicted for northern CA, beginning Thursday, heavy Friday, continuing Saturday and Sunday.

I'm not hearing predictions of flooding, but anything can happen.

How about your area?

I'm thinking my little family needs to stock up on fresh food and more batteries for the four day event. PG&E has been horrible around here for months, and they're in trouble up to their eyeballs, too. We've had three blackouts in about three months. I just got a delivery of two sets of the recent flameless candle TSV, so I'm set to light up the house if need be, LOL. That's ten new candles in all!

Hi Noel.

It sounds like you aren't in line for the worst of it. That's good. I guess any amount of rain is welcome.

We are lucky to have underground utilities so very rarely have blackouts. Doesn't it make you mad when utility bills continue to go up while service goes down? {#emotions_dlg.mad}

Anyway, it does sound like you are ready for anything that comes your way. We are going to be high and dry for the foreseeable future. UGH!!

Take care my friend!!

Yes, it does! You're lucky to have underground, Mom. We are woefully behind in this area.

The latest news is that the storm will begin tonight with rain and heavy wind. Tomorrow may be the worst, continuing into Saturday and Sunday, but not as heavy the last two days.

Marin County is preparing for flooding, sandbags are out for people to take for their homes and businesses.

I don't want any of us to have to make a run to the store when it hits, so I've stocked up on everything I can think of that we need. What does bother me is the thought of another blackout. I suspect PG&E will be very busy.

I'm glad to know you are well prepared for whatever comes your way!! This morning's 11am news is still talking about how hard the storm is suppose to hit.

Of course, down here a slight drizzle is considered a storm!! {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Just take care and keep me posted, OK? Smile

LOL!

I will keep you posted... IF we continue to have power Wink

We get serious winds up here, in fact, the local weather report issued a warning for downed trees. It happens with every big storm, especially in GG Park.

I have been watching the weather reports at weather. com every day. Just this afternoon they changed Fridays rain to 100% from 80%, and indicated heavy rain. Then they extended the rain to Monday, but at 80%.

Noel,

It sure is damp cold today. Woke up to fog, and still overcast. The outside moisture level is high, and cold. Yes! I think rain is on the way.

Hi shoekitty Smile

It's been raining for a couple of hours here but hard to tell how heavy because of the wild winds {#emotions_dlg.scared}

How are you doing at this point?

Hi, Mom Smile

I promised you updates!

Storm Day #1 started off with an unexpected surprise, two earthquakes in the area. Not bad, I think they were around 3.5, evidently woke some people.

We haven't had steady hard rain yet, but it's been raining for a couple of hours. Difficult to tell because the wind is so strong.

We don't like sleeping with all the windows closed, but it's best in this kind of a mess outside.

I haven't heard if your area will be hit or not. How are you doing down there?

Hi Noel!!!

I was wondering how you were doing up there today. I'm slightly jealous of the rainy picture but not the wind damage. Is that adorable doggie yours? What a cutie pie!!

It's been a while since we have had an earthquake of any significance. Hopefully it stays that way. We are still being warned about "the big one". Glad to hear yours were fairly small.

Down here it's 73 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. They say there's a possibility of a small amount of rain tomorrow if your storm sags down south far enough. I am really hoping it does.

Have you heard if they are getting snow in the Sierras? That's what we need more than anything for our water supply this summer.

Again, take care. Wind, rain and 2 earthquakes are a lot in one day!!

Thanks for the update. I do appreciate it.

No wind here! The rain update changed all day, postponing the rain that was due about 12 noon. It started raining hard here about 6pm. Then they cut off a day. It was suppose to rain until Monday, but Monday now has a 30% chance.

You are farther South of me I think. Are you around Steinbeck country?
