LOL...I thought this was going somewhere else.  Are you saying Ronald McDonald has been banned?

Aaaaand - not "banned", but corporate is making him scarce in person "due to the current climate around clown sightings." They have not done away with him. He's just not going to be front & center for awhile.

This is what I read:

"With the nation thoroughly spooked by both real and fake sightings of "creepy" clowns, McDonald's has decided to limit the public appearances of their signature red-haired, floppy-shoed figurehead, the fast-food giant revealed Tuesday."

"McDonald's and franchisees in the local markets are mindful of the current climate around clown sightings in communities and as such are being thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald's participation in community events for the time being," spokeswoman Terri Hickey said in an emailed statement."

So it looks like Ronald McDonald will survive.

Just saw this on the news. What next? A shame that characters that do good and bring smiles have been affected by this stupid stuff.

@Mominohio

How did he do good?

I've known a lot of kids who cried when they saw him.  Out of all the kids my girl grew up with, she was one of the few that didn't freak when they saw a clown.

Please! If I have to explain that Ronald McDonald is/was a lovable part of many childhoods, and his connection to the Ronald McDonald House charities as their trademark, and all the good that stands for, I simply don't know what to say to you.

You're going to find some kid(s) that are afraid of any given thing, but that doesn't diminish the positive connotation of Ronald McDonald.

Years ago Jack in the box had a clown that you talked into through the drive in.  I had totally forgotten about that.

@qualitygal  AMEN!

So have the Burger King, Wendy, and the Chick fil A cows all been interrogated yet?  I think we may have to investigate this bad clown conspiracy for the insider corporate fear mongering it may actually be.  Smiley Tongue
