Have we all become so fearful of a few stupid PITA's that we "feed the trolls" at every turn? Problem is a problematic few who get the press, media attention and a front page story rile up the herd and promote the wanted mass fear reaction. Maybe if we "grew a pair" stop feeding the trolls with attention, they would go away. Years ago anyone who felt that they could run out in front of traffic and scare people would simply cease to exist by becoming road pizza, get a ink smudge mention on some back page of a newspaper. Any teenager caught trying to terrorize a school would be more afraid of what thier parents would do then anyone else and that "clown" wouldnt sit down for a week. Problem solved. The clown frenzy wouldnt be worth it because the citizenry would take care of the problem. Call it Darwinian thinking but anyone stupid enough to be a clown troll wouldnt last long at all. Anyone afraid of a clown is reading too many scary books, watching too many movies and taking the content as truths. None of us are scared of clowns or trolls who seek to disrupt our lives...is what they want....dont feed them. Have we truly become "sheeple"???

Agree with you 100%. I don't find clowns at all funny, and yes, some are kind of creepy!
This is latest creepy clown thing, is just bizarre!

@Stormygirl I read a fairly in-depth article about 'what's with all the clown ****?' that included comments from LE and psychologists, and the jist was that it SEEMS a lot more than it IS. With every "sighting" and every incident reported in the media, hysteria grows and fear grows, but actual danger - not so much. I was surprised by the article, which said it's a self-perpetuating hysteria.
That said, I understand why young children who see things about this or hear their parents talking about it might be afraid - no surprise there.
And, I still fear - not clowns, but an intentional law-breaker who will "use" a costume as cover to commit a very bad act indeed.
The "clown thing" has become literally worldwide. It's happening in the UK and Australia, France and Canada as well, so - copycat to feed into hysteria.

@Moonchilde exactly...is a self perpetuating thing. I havent seen any rogue clowns yet back here in the rural woods and if one appears I am afraid they may meet my good friends "Smith and Wesson" LOLOL

Speaking of rural woods.....me and SO are the biggest ghostie skeptics but the other day we saw a "Shadow figure" in the woods. Human form standing there peering at us. I thought of the clown thing but there was no colors...just a black shadow thing with arms and 2 legs....I shouted at it "Go away" and it "dissapated" Might mention we live on Civil War battlefield and both of us had never seen anything "paranormal" in our lives. Im still trying to explain it away. Maybe shoudl start a thread of "Have you ever seen anything Paranormal ??? LOL

I've never liked clowns. I'm not a cupcake, a snowflake or a sheeple. I just don't care for them. Many children are afraid of them and that is nothing new.
I don't get scared of thunderstorms, snakes or mice. I don't fret about Armegeddon or who might be looking at me through my smart TV. I am not afraid of eating in restaurants or microwave ovens.
Just read these forums and you'll find a lot of people talking about things they fear or dislike. I'll bet they aren't cupcakes, snowflakes or sheeple either.

@QVCkitty1, I have never liked clowns either, so you are not alone!
Poor Ronald McDonald, he never looked scary to me, it was mainly all that red hair, LOL!
I also heard Halloween costume stores, were taking clown costumes off their racks!

Great post !!!
You can also go into a department store in late December and see some kid crying and scared because of the Santa Claus. Do these dummies also want to seriously curtail anything that has to do with Christmas? Good grief.
