Hi @Estellee
I hear ya, me too! I stock up on cans of beans and Pasta/Rice Sides. And soups.
I was thinking of an Amz order, but dont have as much Freezer space as Id wish any more.

@JoyFilled Warrior It's a little scary, isn't it

I just had my 18 roll tp delivered. The large pk of paper towels had to be shipped and won't be here for a day or two. I checked my supply when this thread started. I was a lot lower on inventory than I thought. I bought my normal amt

@SilleeMee I think she's referring to the upcoming dock workers strike.

I was at Costco today to get a flu shot; one of the workers said that it has been a feeding frenzy and every paper product they sell has been sold out a few minutes after they open. Ridiculous. He said Costco is ready for the strike and learned how to manage the supply chain issues during covid. I bought a 6 pack of paper towels at Kroger and they had tons of paper products. I hated to pay the same price for 6 rolls as I would have paid for 12 at Costco, but at least I will have it on hand if the strike lasts very long.

I'm sure the tp and paper towels will wind up on Ebay. Folks hoping to profit but shipping costs will be crazy.
Wondering if stores will post their "no return items" policy like they did during Covid? 😉

Joyfilled,
I was just watching cable news, and according to that, the dock strike is highliy unlikely to affect toilet paper. This was the first thing the report mentioned.
It will likely affect the price and delivery of _fruit_, esp. bananas.
I am highly allergic to bananas (ate too many as meal replacements while dieting and on long teaching days! Bad allergy ensued.)
Other fruits might also go up in price if the strike is lengthy.
Hope this helps. One can't really stock up on bananas because their shelf life is a bit short. Their price may rise if there is no early resolution.

Yesterday, our local news said that toliet paper and paper towels were 'not' among the things that were going to be a shortage of - but that everybody is buying those items out of panic that they will be hard to find...that is why there isn't any in the stores.

Breathe easy, all. A postponement has been announced to allow negotiations until January.
