@Moonchilde and @Annabellethecat66, it does look like both of you had slight nickname changes -- your nicknames used to start with a lower-case letter and now they're upper case?  Which is odd for this platform, since it (supposedly) isn't case-sensitive.   (Meaning, with the old system there could be a username Mary, and mary, and mAry, etc., and they were allowed to be separate, unique accounts -- this system was eliminated those, but now maybe it isn't?)

For those who want to change back to their old nickame, try these steps:

1 -- Go into "My Account"

2 -- Choose  "My Nickname"

3 -- You'll see your current nickname and a box to enter a new one.

4 -- Try entering the old nickname exactly as it was before (be sure not to change anything about it).

5 -- Click "Continue"

6 -- If it accepts the change, then log out.

7 -- Then log back into the Community and the change should take effect (a name change won't take effect until you log out and then back in).

If QVC IT made a blanket change so that members who are the only ones that have a particular username are now displayed with a capital letter instead of lower-case (my guess), it's a change made by QVC, not the users, and since I entered neither a new name nor a new password, it has nothing to with anything I changed.  I do not input a capital letter when I sign in.

I see that users with variations of the same name have retained their lower case beginnings, presumably to differentiate between them. Other names with odd beginnings have been left as-is too.

I don't actually consider it a change, as far as I'm concerned. It's not like QVC changed my name by adding or deleting a character.

@Moonchilde, It would be interesting to see if one of you could change your nickname back to starting with the lower-case letter (only if you wanted to, of courseSmiley).   I'm wondering if the nickname glitch had something (just in part, not completely) to do with the case-sensitive issue.

At any rate, I hope my instructions might help if anyone wants to try and recover their previous nickname.Smiley

I simply typed in my normal nickname when it asked for a new nickname. The system accepted it.  Ridiculous.

Unfortunately, they leave it up to us to solve our problems.   I don't think I've ever seen a proper acknowledgement of technical imbroglios and I don't expect we'll see on this time, either.  I'm glad your nickname wasn't changed, @AspenGrove.Smiley

It did that to me twice this morning, so I just made up a new nic, though I'm still "credited" for my past postings.  Funny thing is that just over the weekend I was thinking about changing my nic because I never did like the original one I had - VCamp2748 - which was about something happening in my life at the time.  2010, I think.  Oh well...

i have been trying to fix this all morning.....i "lost" my sunshine45 and had to change it to Sunshine45. all of my information is intact, but i have had to send several emails to the qvc social team and they were in touch with their IT department.

the IT department sent the social team instructions on a possible fix, but it didnt work for me. so now i am Sunshine45.

if anyone wants me to post "the fix" that they sent me that didnt work, please let me know and i will post it. they are blaming it on all the glitches that arose yesterday. evidently there are problems all over the site.

thanks to @Susan-QVC for her help! i had told her to get me back my lowercase sunshine45 if at all possible since the information she forwarded to me didnt work.

@sunshine45, Did this work?  I'm quoting  my post because I don't want to offer this as being accurate if it isn't.
