IMO the more this bad behavior is talked about, the more it will happen.  Others will want their moment of fame but think they will be more careful and won't get caught.

News outlets should report it and update it and it should be done with.  Constant hashing it over and over in forums and in social media just feeds the fire for those seeking fame for ANYTHING.

Maybe it has been talked about, and enough is enough, BUT it should not be forgotten.

The consequences should be made public. 

It should be understood and made clear to all that such crimes have punishments.

Just letting it pass by will not due, and that is why is needs to be out there. This is why the media in the area where the event occurred should keep the public updated.

You know what they do in other countries if your caught stealing an apple from a vendors sidewalk cart ?  If your found guilty of rape ?  They don't coddle you in other countries.

This is very true, @SharkE , in authoritarian regimes, in which there is no such thing as a fair trial and punishment is or similar to an eye for an eye.

I thank our collective stars that we are not one of them. You call it "coddle"; I call it true and fair justice that is not always perfect.

if they catch you in the act of stealing then there is no need of a trial

If they try you for rape and THEN your found guilty then you get your just reward.
