Yes, they are.
Surely you have heard of a bris conducted by a moil, right?
I'm well aware of this and other archaic religious practices done on female children. It's long past time they were outlawed.
A bris is done on BOY babies, not girl babies.
Jews don't circumcise girl babies.
Everyone knows that. I was referring to other religions who do. Do you condone that? I don't.

Her sentence construction didn't make it clear, but she wasn't saying Jews circumcise girls. She was likening circumcision to the female genital mutilations conducted in other religions.

Yikes ..... that's scary.

Good news that. I suppose it's due to more people obtaining higher education and questioning it.

Of course I don't agree with female genital mutilation.

@occasionalrain wrote:I don't blame her for suing. I would have as well. Whether the baby was harmed or not, this was an inexcusable mistake causing immeasurable distress to the mothers. They have to wonder what other mistakes have been made and covered up.
This ineptitude is the reason I delivered my child at home. No chance of an abduction, being given the wrong baby, or some overworked, drug addicted, hung over, or careless nurse or doctor making a mistake.
Oh come on ........ I think "immeasureable distress" is a bit of an exaggeration.

Uh ... if you think male circumcision and female genital mutilation are the same thing, you need to do a lot more reading. They are not the same.

Sorry to read this happened. Mistakes do happen and they do happen in hospitals.
A work associate I had in the past had a chinese baby handed to her and she was african american and had an african american baby. SHE called the nurse back and informed her that she didn't get her baby. The mix-up was resolved.

I'm not sure why you're assuming we don't know what happens at a Bris?

Well OF COURSE they are... It's the American way... And of course, everyone is utterly ENTITLED never to have an error that was hardly a catastrophe interfere with their otherwise charmed lives...
