Recently, I have noticed that I get multiple calls from the same number in one day. I have NoMoRobo, so my phone doesn’t ring at least. But the same number shows up either as VOIP or a local town or just the number on my caller ID. The record number of calls in one day so far is 15!

Wouldn't ya think they’d give up if they get cut off after the first 5 or so calls that day?

Is anyone else experiencing this new tactic?

A pox on all spammers!

Yes, since I switch from a landline to voice through the cable (keeping my old number) I have been getting many calls from the same numbers. The voice is set up to block robo calls and I noticed all of the calls look like they are local...i.e. +1 (my area code) and the caller ID says it is a number from the United States.

I've had that problem before, though not recently.  I reported the situation to the FCC.  Not sure that helped, but the calls did stop in short order.

It’s just sickening how these calls are so intrusive on our lives. I am so tired of it.

@Dragonflyveb I've even started getting them at work!  When I do get the robocalls, it's easy to tell because the ID always has the same exchange as my own number (I have 3 different phone numbers, and it's like that for all of them).  They are always hijacking these numbers, and one time I looked at the ID, and it was my own land line number!  I was getting 10-15 calls a day with that number and had to go to my ATT account and block my own phone number!  (I also have nomorobo.)

I have a phone that allows me to block the spam callers.  It was worth the investment.  please consider getting one if your funds permit.  I purchased mine from Hsn.

Re: New spam call tactic?

[ Edited ]

I actually have call blocker AND NoMoRobo both.

I go through my call log every day to see if I missed someone. That’s when I find the 15 calls from the same numbers. Ugh. I wish the spammers would leave me alone!

Hi @Happiness Is Inside JOB .... this may be a stupid question, but do you have to have caller ID with this phone you got at HSN?

WE have a land line and it costs us almost $43 a month and that's with local calling only, NO LONG DISTANCE. It's BS!

We're not phone people, but can't always count on getting a signal on our tracfones. DH says he will not pay AT&T for additional caller ID fee. We have an answering machine. The calls begin exactly at 8:15 every morning, then the second one at 8:50am and they go all day....never leaving a message. TIA

@godi : Sickening is a good word for these horrible scammers because last week it took me to another level of fear.  Yes, I have caller ID and report diligently to FCC and do not answer any calls that are unassigned.  Calls seemed to be getting fewer and actually went a couple of days with none - so nice!

Until last week... don’t know why I answered that call I didn’t know but I’m thanking God that I did.  It was our local police and then ambulance company to advise me my 17 year old granddaughter was in a horrible car wreck and was severely injured. I was the first family member to answer.  She is better and hopefully will make a full recovery but we have all been traumatized but very blessed.

Now I’m afraid to NOT answer every call.  Thinking-what if...

of course I’m filing complaints, writing congress people; anything I can think of.  This must stop!  We can walk on the moon but we can’t control who phones us - PLEASE?!?!

@SpacrazyWhen you got that horrible call about your granddaughter, did the caller ID say Police Dept or something like that? I've always wondered and sometimes I'm afaird to block a number in case it is some kind of an emergency. So glad she is doing better too.
