Yeah, @gardenman .  At a minumum it's 14 weeks.  That's why signed the contract now!

 

The contractor is ordering my custom windows.  We also have a funky old bay window that he thinks they can insert.  Good craft people can get this done.  Fingers crossed.

I used my severance money to install new windows and siding when I retired. Assuming you have a reputable business doing the work, there is little to worry about. Our vinyl windows match the wood grain trim and I'm pleased with the results. One window pane cracked during a bitter cold spell, but was replaced under the warranty.

2 years ago we had two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms windows replaced by renewal by Andersen.  Very pricey but 1 yr same as cash.  All windows were custom made by them and also installed by them; there is an unconditional 25 year warranty. We are very pleased and will have remaining four windows in our house replaced next year.  There is a definite difference for the better with our heating/ air conditioning.
