I am a 70+ lady who loves a white tee shirt.  For years I've purchased nice cotton tee shirts from Land's End with no problem.

The problem now that I need a new, fresh supply is that every one I've purchased lately you can clearly see my bra through it.

Now, I'm not a prude, but I am older and chunkier and I noticed the last time I wore my latest purchase that I got some rather amused looks (for lack of a better word) and I was terribly self conscious the rest of the day.  (It was at an elementary school function which even made it worse)

Does anyone have a suggestion for a white tee shirt that you cannot completely see through?

@Georgiagrama : Sorry no help. For the reasons you mentioned decided to give up white shirts.

@SouthernBee   It looks like that might be my only solution as well. It's very discouraging, especially living in the South with summer coming on fast.

Try JC Penney St. John's Bay tees.  The cotton is thick and they are very reasonably priced.  They also wash and wear very well.

I find LLBean Tees to be heavier than Lands End.

@NickNack  I did check Talbots. Someone asked if the cotton crew neck tee was see thru.  At least the customer service representative answered truthfully that it was.

But, I thank you for the suggestion.

@turtle52   You know, I had forgotten all about the St. John's Bay tees.  When my girls were growing up, that's the only place we shopped, and you are right, they used to be outstanding.

Hope that hasn't changed.   Thank you!!!

Like a previous reply I buy my white T-shirts from LL Bean. They are not see-through. I prefer the crew neck Pima cotton tee but the LL Bean tees are very nice, too.

The pima cotton tees are a little dressier with a thin binding around the neck. The LL Bean tees are heavier with more of a standard T shirt neck.

There are some nice colors as well as white, both dark and pastels.
