@skatting44 I have Ring cameras and the subscription for ALL 10 of them is $100.00 a year.  Why would anybody have cameras and not have the subscription that allows you to look back on events???  Otherwise, it only keeps the information for 24 hours.

Re: Nancy Guthrie

It must haunt the family just knowing she is out there, somewhere.

From what I've read from several news sources, it seems the FBI felt that the 2 notes on Feb 2 (for cryptocoin or whatever) and Feb 6th,saying Nancy was dead, were legitimate out of all the ones received.

I don't understand why they kept this information from the family until now that as the Feb 6th one said that she was dead?

Why did the FBI and sheriff's ofc claim to keep on looking for her and putting the family through hopeless agony?

And all the news these past months continue with no information other than still looking and no information about if she was alive or not?

Some news like TMZ and some others asked if the FBI was going to provide money for the first ransom note, when it was reported

on being received.

The FBI claim is that the info was withheld in order to get legitimacy about the notes but it seems they believed they were and especially the second one were legitimate and were from the same source, way back months ago. They also received several emails saying the same that Nancy was buried in nature.

I don't understand the thinking behind all this and what they chose to withhold for so long.

So incredibly sad.

It's very sad....

The familyprobably blame themselves for not having better security , etc.

Honestly, sometimes elderly parents reject security and other interventions to keep them safe. My parents were good about security system, but my inlaws  canceled anything the kids set up for them.

I hope the family and friends get closure andperpetrators  tried and convicted.

My theory is she was taken for ransom but with all the publicity and police/FBI presence, things got to hot to try to pursue collecting so they killed her.

I hear ya, but didn't the kidnappers know she was the Mother of someone who was famous, and that there would automatically be a ton of publicity and law enforcement involved from the very beginning? Smiley Frustrated

I also think that when Savannah and her siblings were holding hands and weeping, that they knew Nancy was dead, but they were hoping against hope and at least wanted to give her a proper burial and celebration of life ceremony.

They didn't withhold that info from the family. From what I read:

After the second note was received, Savannah Guthrie posted a video addressing the alleged kidnapper.

“We received your message and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace."

Yes, revenge. I don't want to go into it further b/c the topic would get it deleted.

@SilleeMee I have thought what you thought since the beginning.  It could have been provoked from anywhere in the world, for reasons we will never know.  Just things that didn't sit well with any groups worldwide.

@LavernLuvsShoes,

This makes me understand more that they knew she had died.

When they just said they understood and wanted to celebrate with her it sounded like they thought she was still alive.

Your thoughts make sense.

I posted on the older and much longer thread about this, that I thought the video where Savannah and her siblings talked about wanting Nancy home so they could "celebrate" with her, was a sign that they knew she had passed.  They were still willing to pay, just to have her body back and to give her a proper burial.

I thought it then and nothing has changed my mind.  I think she died during or soon after the abduction and the kidnappers (I don't believe it was a single person) couldn't produce the requested "proof of life" so just buried her somewhere.

Whoever they are, they're totally evil scum, not to even tell the family where Nancy is buried.  I hope some day - no matter how long - they're caught and imprisoned for life.

And I have to add, with all Savannah Gutherie's money why didn't her mother have the best security system for her house?

the only people who have any responsibility for her death are thse who kidnapped her.
