As for leaving her in a car, I'm appalled at the suggestion but that's just me.  Summer or winter, dogs don't belong in a car unattended, especailly sick dogs.  Shame on whoever made that suggestion.

@curlywhitedog Absolutely agree.  Leaving any pet in any car unattended is abusive.

The poster in question returned a couple of posts later, on page 1, and said she wasn't serious about leaving the dog in a car.

It was me. I wrote omg at the end of the sentence. I would never leave my sick dog in an unattended car, and especially a hot car.

I thought I read another poster suggested it.

Re: NO! You cannot bring your sick dog....

My son said he would have no problem with someone bringing their dog even if it was sick.He said that he would ask that they leave it in the back yard if it was vomiting excetra.I think that a person should stay home and care for their sick pet where everything is quiet and familiar but I wouldn't say no to a good friend as I feel they would attend to the sick puppy as needed.

If a dog is used to going everywhere with you, it may not be a bad idea to leave it in the car and check on it periodically. (Unless it's vomiting, diarrhea, etc.)

I would rather stay home with it, though.

No I'm sorry. This is just wrong.  No dog should be so used to going absolutely everywhere with a person that it's unable to be at home by itself.  Many dogs are stolen out of vehicles because people refuse to leave a dog at home where it belongs.

If the dog was that ill, someone needed to stay home with it.  I would never take my dog somewhere and leave it in the car.

Re: NO! You cannot bring your sick dog....

Would you bring your sick child or spouse? I hope not! If you are sick you need to stay home and so does the Pooch.

I love my animals but I would not expect to bring them ill to somebody elses house for any reason..especially not sick.

Where do people get the idea that is even acceptable? If your pooch is that sick..seriously - you need to be with them at HOME..in their comfy home and surroundings..

Does anyone know if the guest bowed out of the invite? Did the OP update us?
