Re: NO CHRISTMAS AT RADIO CITY THIS YEAR ...

[ Edited ]

That's so sad...... It's like real life "Year Without A Santa Claus".....  but those of us that have faith...at least get to celebrate that aspect but in a more private and subtle way....

All our special events that were moved from the spring to the fall have been canceled here in Texas--- Woman Sad

Fiesta

Oktoberfest

Folk Life Festival

Strawberry Festival......

I think they are holding out at the last moment for the Holiday River Parade but it doesnt look good, wonder if they will still put up all the decorations and the city Christmas tree..... 😥

This does sting.  We all know things are different, very different and that things will remain forever changed.  But hearing stuff like this still seems like a huge blow even though you know it's coming.

I was very lucky to be able to see NYC at Christmas a couple of years ago and that included seeing the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.  In fact Monday, I just glanced through all my photos of that trip.

I have no plans to ever return to NYC. The city has been ruined.

Not sure what the fall and holiday season will look like in other parts of the country. I don't think there will be much going on. I'll enjoy my decor, cooking & baking, music, and movies. I will remain positive and happy as I can not change things that I have no control over.

In a year or two it will be back. Nothing is permanent and most of us will still be around to see a better day.

In the meantime Santa will have to deliver our gifts via contactless delivery by throwing them down the chimney.

Re: NO CHRISTMAS AT RADIO CITY THIS YEAR ...

A real shame, along with so many other things fallen by the wayside and/or irreparably damaged, stripped away or made unrecognizable... This nightmare has cast a pall on virtually everything fun, happy or positive and has done so world-wide. It has truly been the gift that just keeps on giving and giving and giving...

@RetRN   Agree.  I've been digging into my fall decos today.  I haven't started decorating though.

It's not going to be the same if DS and family cannot join in, especially for Christmas Eve which has always been "my" thing since forever.

Re: NO CHRISTMAS AT RADIO CITY THIS YEAR ...

I have to wonder if we are being played to some extent with all of the data that seems to change daily. Two days ago, a cable news channel said our city had 1 death that day. A huge improvement. That night on our local news, they said there had been 3 deaths. The next morning on a National morning show, they said there had been 361 deaths. How in the world will anyone be able to make the right choices right now if we can’t depend on what we are being told as accurate?

With NYC implementing new guidelines, nobody is about to travel to NYC anyway.  So as much of a bummer it is, the guidelines are so stifling it wouldn't be worth it even if the events were open.

@lovesrecess , I'm guessing there is a lag time in reporting the numbers, hence the changing numbers.
