My very own "Who's on First?" routine

It was surreal. I felt like I was in Abbott and Costello's "Who's on First?" Got my monthly email from Charter that my bill was ready (paperless statement). Click on the link, put in all my information and..."user name and password not found." So did it again..."user name and password not found." Okay, well the user name auto-populates so I know that is correct. I click on the password help link. It asks for my account number and zip. Put it in and..."you have not set up this account." What? It has been almost 8 years and I certainly have set up the account and am in it several times a month.

I resign myself to the fact that the changes we made to our total package last month have sent the account gremlins onto the web site and wiped us out. So "click here to set up your account." Click. Enter your account number and the 4-digit security number. Account number I have. What is the security number? I try a couple of 4-digit numbers we use, but noooo.

So I call Charter. What is the 4-digit security number? "It is on your bill." I don't have my bill. "You can find your bill on line." I can't get into my account. "You can set up your account on line." I need the 4-digit security number. "It is on your bill." I don't have a paper bill, I use on-line. "Then you need to set up your account." I need the 4-digit security number. "It's on your bill." If I had a paper bill, I would see it, but I don't. "You need to set up your account." I can't without the 4-digit security number. "It's on your bill."

Did I finally get through to her? Did I finally get my 4-digit security number? Yeah, but only after the "Who's on First?" routine.
