I hate to be the voice of gloom and doom but, in many cases, we have reached a point where there are no reasonable choices left. That is the situation we are reaping from many decades of "willful ignorance."

Powerful people made and continue to make decisions that have or will impact all living creatures, human and animal, plant and sea life. I think they were or are assuming D Day would come long after they were gone. Most reasonable people can see that the earth is changing more rapidly than anyone expected.

Can we acknowledge and learn from past decisions? Of course, we could, but I don't see it happening. Sorry for the pessimism. I'm old but worry for future generations.

Unless you live on a houseboat, we are all living on land space that would be or was inhabited by animals be it an antelope or an ant.

Some animals you just can't live safely amongst.

Just read a book about people living in very rural New Hampshire amongst the bears. Grafton NH. Isn't working out too well and probably never will...for either species....

As much as I enjoy, like, and love animals, I will never value them equally with humans.  If culling overpopulation needs to happen, so be it.

Human women should have as many kids as they want, as long as they can care and provide for them.  

It's none of anyone's business, how many homes (or anything else, for that matter) someone owns or how large they are.  We are not paying for them or the property taxes.  The homeowner is, and their purchases are providing employment opportunities for others. Thus, putting more money into the economy.

@KittySoftPaws I think you should be commended for caring enough to protest this issue. However, all the protesting in the world doesn't help with coming up with a viable solution.

Bears are dangerous, like really dangerous. I know of someone who lost his life being mauled by a bear. And a bear bite isn't "just" a bear bite. It is a horrendous wound to come back from.

As far as I'm concerned anyone can build the largest home they desire with their own money if complying with state and local zoning regulations.   Increasing ratables and adding to the tax base is a positive development in my book.

And I'm not aware of any laws restricting the number of homes that one can build, own and pay real estate taxes on.

Maybe humans shouldn't have invaded their spaces. That only forces animals into other areas.

@JeanLouiseFinch Sadly, the tax laws favor the rich and some pay no taxes at all. Some even brag that paying no taxes make them smarter than you. Now tax payers in some states are subsidizing private school tuition. I think the people are starting to see how many benefits are bestowed on the rich while the poor and middle class foot the bill.
