Re: My Virtual Kindergarten update

Math, reading and writing in Kindergarten?  That blows me away.

My children didn't begin to learn that stuff in school until they were in first grade.   They were all taught by me home by me before they went to school.

When I grew up, there was no such thing as Kindergarten in my area.

i am afraid many children who do not have support at home will not be educated and will never catch up. There are so many adults in the US who cannot read.  I fear we will have another generation in the same boat.

Re: My Virtual Kindergarten update

If school has been virtual since the beginning of the school year, how did 600 kids and 200 teachers get covid?

Doesn't sound like going virtual helped much.

The entire school district has not been virtual since the beginning of the year sorry I did not make it a bit clearer.  My grandson's teacher was located in the school building as she taught class each day and the school was opened to other students and teachers. Other schools in the district were open as well. Sometimes my grandson's teacher would have her mask on as she walked through the building during the zoom class.

Yes!  math, reading and writing in Kindergarten.  They have workbooks that were mailed to each childs home before school started. They are currently working on adding and subtracting, writing words and understanding stories the teacher reads. They are even working on maps !  Yes, kindergarten is not like it used to be !
