My Knidle Broke!

I dropped it and now when I turn it on the text is so dark agains the background I can't read it. I called Amazon today and discovered that basically they don't repair Kindles. They just offer you a good deal on a new one. I have the large size DX model that Dh bought me for XMAS in 09. At that time it cost him $450.00. They will sell me a brand new one of the same model for $90.00 with free shipping.

I did ask about repairing my existing one and let's just say that I was discouraged from even pursuing that option.

Anyway just thought I would let other Kindle users know what happens if your stops working and is out of the warranty period.
