So sorry to hear of the passing of your dear friend.  I still feel this way about my best friend my Dad..sometimes when I have quiet moments I just want to pick up the phone and tell him a funny story! I do but look up to the heavens and share with him!

I very sorry for your loss.  As you wrote, it is difficult to make new friends later in life, and to have found one you treasured was surely an unexpected bonus in your life.

For the last decade and a half, I have lost my closest friends, one by one, and so I understand your pain.  I was thinking of two of them this evening and marveling at how blessed I was to know them.

Bask in the glow of all the good times you had with your friend and rejoice that you had such an experience.

@QVCkitty1, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear friend.  Love and friendship are so precious, and I can bet your dear friend is watching over you from heaven.  When I lost a dearest friend several years back, she told me she was going to watch over me from heaven when it was close to her time to leave.  I just know your friend is doing the same.

It's rare these days to find a friend that you can so deeply connect with.  I am sending you my deepest condolences.  It is so very hard to lose a person who has touched your heart and enriched your life so much. You have every right to grieve for her.  She will always hold a very special place in your heart.
