You better look further into this. You do have to pay per gig with this unit. Scroll down to the blue bar and hit PLANS and see how much it will cost depending on how much data you use.

I have a Verizon Home fusion broadband unit since I live on top of a mountain. If anything was available that was cheaper to use I would be all over it. MIFI is not it.

We did not go there necessarily looking for the cheapest unit but for the most practical. We travel a lot and we snowbird every year between Pa and Fl. so that is why this should be a more practical choice for us than having to pay for internet service in two places - having to suspend it and restart it twice a year etc etc. plus, in order to have internet service at camp we have a big cord lying across the yard from the box next door as the campground owner doesn't allow them to dig up the yard to bury the cords.That cord is a major pain in the neck - we trip on it and I have to hold it up for DH to cut the grass under it, not to mention how unattractive it is. So , for us, all in all , we think this will be an improvement. we have a 2 year contract - if we hate it we can cancell the contract for $100. It is definately worth a try to us.

I think jetpacks have 4G of data and Mifi has 5 which should be enough for the 2 of us. it's not like we are going to be streaming videos or running a business with it. We generally just e mail - FB and go to this forum.

I hope you find it advantageous. We don't stream anything and have 30 gigs and sometimes run low. It's just DH and I. We have gigs with our phone and Ipad also which we pay for. We pay over $300 a month and wish it was less for the phones and internet.
