Yesterday I went to my credit union to deposit a large amount of cash. I asked the teller for a receipt and she said that her computer wasn't working properly ---- then she called a manager to see what's wrong. Then she called another manager-type and they still couldn't figure it out.
She kept thanking me for being so patient. She managed to print a sheet of paper showing my deposit and total amount I had in my money market a/c.
When I got home, I started wondering what was going on. No other tellers were having problems with their computers ---- people went to my teller prior to me being there. Does this make sense?

Sounds like her computer was down. I certainly wouldn't worry about it but if you are concerned, check your balance.

Does what make sense? Her computer had a glitch when she waited on you.

The fact that the teller called over two people to try and correct whatever the problem was that she was having with her computer, shows me that she probably was really having trouble with her computer.
If she was doing something nefarious, I doubt that she would want any co-worker to look at her computer.
That being said. I used to be the bookkeeper for a popular restaurant. I would count the money and deposit it at the bank. It was lots of $$$$$. I would hand the teller the paper bag of cash and they would count it out and give me a receipt. Well, one time the teller said she didn't have time to count it out. And put the paper bag on the counter behind the tellers. I did not find out until weeks later, the teller never made a deposit of that bag of cash. I was never told what happened. Because I think the owners of the restaurant never knew if I kept the money. But I wondered why they did not check security cameras. I am sure the bank had numerous ones around the bank. It was thousands of dollars, so it was certainly worth checking out the tapes from the security cameras.

Do you still work for the restaurant? I never would have walked out of that bank without that teller counting that cash and giving me a receipt. I would have asked for the cash back and went to another teller.

I went to my CU yesterday & kinda same thing happened. My car loan is due today and payment is $214.08.
She asked me if I was paying a partial payment. No why? She said her system showed the payment was $428.16.😳
She told me they were having server problems
since last week they did update. Tonight, I signed into my account and was going to pay bill yet it still shows double payment.
I selected other and entered 214.08. Then tells me Ihave payment balancedue. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I paid my normal payment. I'll go there Monday to see what'sgoing on

I think it was a combination of a large cash deposit, and a computer issue.
I recently made a large withdrawal on one of my accounts to cover a home project. I left that bank, drove straight to my other bank in the town closest to me, to deposit the cashiers check into my account. That teller called the main branch of the bank I just left to verify my cashiers check! I had paperwork to show my transaction as to why I had the cashiers check, but she still had to call.

My local bank treats me like a CRIMINAL. My only guess is that they have another customer with the same name who has a flag on their account.

First, your credit union is probably federally insured by the National Credit Union Association (similar to the FDIC for banks), so you have protection.
Second, you got a printed sheet of paper showing the deposit. That's your proof that they took in your money. Hold onto it until your regular statement shows the money credited to your account.
Third, computers can have problems at any moment eveny when others are still working. The teller should have sent you to another station that was working. You might want to talk to the manager and ask why that didn't happen with your deposit when the problem occurred.

When B of A started treating my husband like one, wanting 3 forms of ID from him before they would give him any cash back from his pay check we closed all our accounts with them.
