Two cosecutive sentences of life without parole.

I thought the judge was outstanding, and, Murdaugh got exactly what he deserves for the double murders.

The jurors did their duty and while justice was served in terms of the life sentence, nothing will bring Maggie and Paul back.
Maggie's only surviving child Buster showed no emotion as the verdict was read. It is chillingly clear that there were three victims, not two.
I hope Maggie and Paul find peace in their next life. I continue to keep them in my prayers.
Truly a tragedy and a heinous crime.

Yes @meallen616 the judge was exceptional and an aspirational example for others.

It was interesting to me that he made the life sentences to be served consecutively. Sends a very strong message. Still saying he is innocent. I am sure he is already on suicide watch. He still has 99 charges against him for all of his financial crimes. Many of them will be tried by the same judge who sentenced him today. There must be quite a few inmates where he is going who he sent there over the years. I feel so bad for his only living child, Buster. I hope somehow Buster ends up with the money he is entitled to, not the money his father swindled from others.

Judge Newman called the trial " one of the most troubling cases that I've handled " Judge Newman was always so calm, but his words to Murdaugh at sentencing were powerful.....

Considering that Alex was there at the time of the killings. Who was he going to say who did the killings? Recording of his voice seconds before the shooting. Some sharp shooter? That and the super fast decision by the jury. Hope it won't be a factor during his appeal.

If only Judge Ito had been...
Well, that's another can of worms...

@Trailrun23 Do you think they will be any money left when all the claims against the estate are settled? I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't bankrupt.
How ever will he buy his snacks from the jailhouse store?

I foresee a fictionalized tv series with a prison inmate who was an attorney, but is now serving a sentence for murder. He uses his legal knowledge behind bars to help fellow inmates. So who should portray the 'jailhouse lawyer'?
