This makes me so sad. He JUST retired from 60 Minutes on Sunday night.

I felt like I could trust his reporting. He stood for honest journalism. This is a sad day. May he RIP.

OMG ... does anyone know if he was ill, or if this was sudden?

 

This seems to be a "curse" ..... poor Andy Rooney died shortly after retiring from 60 Minutes.     A very sad coincidence, if nothing else!

OMG!  He just retired from 60 Minutes, I enjoyed the special segment they did on his life and career.  I thought he'd live to be 100.  I said to my husband  "he'll write a book now and I'll definitely buy it".

I haven't watched 60 minutes in years, but certainly knew who he was. At least he kept doing what he loved all the way to the end. Good for him.
