I don't think it will work.  Some posters can't get along with calm topics.  The threads would constantly be poofed.

The issue doesn't seem to be about calm, but rather content.

@butterfly123

Why aren't you interested in going to Among Friends which seems more suited to your tastes?

Instead, it seems as if you expect the majority of posters on Chat to accept what you want this board to be instead of what it has been and the majority seem to like best.

Are you talking about topics that are inappropriate by their simple title, or about events that may be upsetting to some?  If it is posted in an inappropriate way, that is one thing.  If it is simply the subject matter that is upsetting, sorry, but that's the world we live in.

The title of the thread may be perfectly straightforward and not sensationalized at all: Boy vs alligator, Orlando shootings, Bodies found in plane crash, puppy mill raided, etc. not happy topics but nothing at all wrong with how they are stated. It's just that the OP wants to decide what QVC needs to do with any written word she personally finds 'disturbing' in any way. The OP feels that she doesn't want to see thread topics like "boy vs alligator", i.e. does not want to see literally those words anywhere on the QVC forums, because those words upset her.

I have seen very few topics that were TITLED in an unnecessarily unpleasant way. The contents are a different matter of course - but no one is forcing anyone to click on any thread they think might upset them.

To suggest that QVC needs to censor and/or segregate thread titles like "Boy vs. alligator" or "Orlando murders" is completely ridiculous, IMO.

This is exactly what I was thinking.  Among Friends already exists, and it would seem to be the appropriate place to read and post for someone who is sensitive.  Doesn't seem right to expect the Community Chat board to change into a duplicate of Among Friends.  Right now we have two different choices - something for everyone.

@Noel7

This is not my community board. It is QVC's.

I said I respect other's opinions and maybe you have the Best Answer and that is Among Friends.

I am not asking anyone to conform and I am not going to fight about it either.

If anyone arrives at the QVC forums page by clicking on "Forums", you are taken to the page where the titles of every active thread on all forums are displayed, based on how recently someone posted in them. So no matter where you put a thread, if it's active and many are posting about it, people are going to see it on the main Forums page. To change this, Lithium would have to completely re-vamp the forum software or "hide" the forum like the Games forum is hidden, and the Moderators would have to facilitate entrance for every single poster who wanted to see those posts. Talk about making one group of posts/posters stand out as unwanted and biased against by QVC...
