The wild horses and the elk congregated in the same area for the first time we or our neighbor have ever seen.  The horses have long tails.  Elk have white butts. Zoom in on the light brown utility pole. A mare and an elk cow are standing together. There are elk babies and the mare's foal nearby that are smaller than moms but also similar in size.

That is awesome! Thank you for sharing🙂. Did the area get a storm or a change in weather later that day? I notice animals do different things before a storm or something later on that day/night. If not, you will have to share if they continue to mix like that. Very interesting! I am an animal watcher myself. I have actually seen a groundhog climb the mulberry tree 2 years in a row now! Who knew? Maybe someone else I’m sure but what a sight😅

@Jesse Ann The street is being resurfaced and dirt is being moved. I think it may have had an influence. Your groundhog thinks he is a squirrel. Animals are so entertaining.

@On It.  What an exciting day in the neighborhood.  Zooming in, I think I spy quite a few foals in the herd.  They're pretty good size now and growing up fast.  Do they thin the herd?

Fish & Game darted and hauled off a young mountain lion in my area yesterday.  Kind of shook people up as we're  out in the desert, not mountains.

@Kachina624  I thought they had taken our herd earlier this year, but thankfully it reappeared. I do not know what BLM does specifically with these urban herds.

We sit on our front porch much of the day. This photo was taken from there. We have the clearing on the right and forested land on the left. Everyday brings new wonders.
