And of cocurse, add Mark Zuckerberg to the list ..Bezos should donate at least the same amount or better..
@classic, do you know for a fact that those named have NOT donated to the cause? Regardless, it's really up to each individual to make that decision.
Those who do decide to help should be applauded; those who don't should not be publicly shamed. It just seems so contrary to the whole idea of charity.
SUZYQ3: FYI, I was just adding to someone's comment... No one is shaming anyone; just an input.. Have a great evening!!!!!!

ITA @suzyQ3.
This entire thread is becoming an exercise in tacky. Not one single person here knows exactly how and what people are donating. Furthermore, it's no one's business.
What is it with these kinds of disasters that brings out some of the worst of human traits?

@ms traditional wrote:@Noel7 i also read that Walmart has a tiered gift of up to $20 million. Texas has been a good market to a lot of companies. it is good when it is recognized that it is a 2-way street.
yes, walmart is also matching x2 monetary donations collected, I believe to 10 million, and an additional 10 million in needed items

actually quite a bit of the donation stream is a matter of public record. i linked to a listing from a few days ago earlier in the thread. a lot of these are business donations of publicly traded companies, some associated with well-known personalities. it is a growing list because Texas is a major market for many businesses; many businesses have employees in the state. many feel a responsibility to the area @Ms tyrion2

Google for more info...
Are you hoping to slam him for the charities he is choosing?
For the record, his donation will amount to a full one million.
Nope.
Then perhaps you can hint at what you found interesting.
It's an interesting final destination for a donation of that size.
I think the entire world would agree with me since the
final destination was recently in the news in an unflattering light.
Maybe Mr. Perry's influence will change the tides of Public Opinion.
@sidsmomUnless you know everyone in the entire world your thought isn't valid.
It's not what was said; it's what is being done now.
Besides, much of it was blown out of proportion. Public Opinion is not what matters; what matters is the good that is being done to help.
Just sayin'.
