One ticket in NJ hit the 1 billion + mega million lottery. Seems odd that all these big ticket amounts are usually won by just one ticket.Well, enjoy, whoever you are.

What a lucky person.  But I don't find it odd at all for there to be a singular winner.  In fact, just the opposite.  Since the chances of winning are astronomical, I feel it would be even stranger if two or more people got all the right numbers in the same drawing.

With such huge amounts of $$ in thatand Powerball, I hope the FTC or whatever agency is responsible for oversight is keeping an eye on them. Remember the MacFDonald;s contest fix ? That wAS ONLY $24 million.

Possibly the owner of that ticket was a member of a "pool"...

Re: Mega Millions

I didn't win, but I only spent $4 on two tickets and rarely play the lotto.  I had fun talking to a guy who was buying tickets next to me at the touch screen lotto machines- we talked about our dreams and what we'd do with the money if we won. It was nice to dream about my potential winnings until the numbers were announced.

We don't play very often.  But I think the rules or something should change so that more people win at one time or it is easier to win.  No one needs the astronomcal amount of money that these big jack pots get to.  I would rather the winnings help more people live a comfortable life than giving one person the huge responsiblity and headache of having that much money.

Too bad I don't live in NJ and bought a ticket.

I'm just going to pretend the winner will be miserable with all that money Woman Very Happy

I'm with @Puppy Lips though. I think the max should be $1 million per person, or close to it. There should be more people able to change their lives than one person with $1 billion.
