We have traditional Medicare with a supplement.  The plan we chose has a $20 co-pay for certain visits.

 

We do not make any up front payments and if they ask we tell them we will wait for our EOB before we do.

This is an excellent reply.

Many of the medical offices we visit ask for co-pays "up front". I remember your answer.

@FranandZoe   I agree with you...everyone if at all possible needs a supplement.  I had a friend that needed knee surgery, he did not have a supplement...he had the money, just stubbron, and knew it would be a big chuck of money, out of pocket...fast forward, both knees got bad and he was in miserable pain, until he passed away a few years ago.
