Businesses are continuously reassessing their profiles. I wish QVC would come up with a deal like Amazon Prime. Even on Prime not everything is free 2-day shipping, but it certainly helps. QVC could try a trial period of a membership program like Prime to see if the increase in business does not make up for the increased shipping costs.

Otherwise, I'm happy with QVC. They cannot be everything to everyone. Every B&M store out there (with the exception of the Big Box Stores) cater to a specific demographic. I sometimes think that QVC might benefit from having a consumer advisory panel.

@Yardlie

With their revenues going down especially during the 4th quarter (the Christmas quarter) and the previous first, second, and third quarters declining as well, it appears that QVC is being hardly anything at all to hardly anyone....

QVC doesn't need a Consumer Advisory Panel all they need to do is read the comments on these Forums across all their product categories and they will see the same feedback over and over and over....While every person's suggestion probably can't be implemented, certainly some of the more popular ones could be.  QVC's "action plan" of making up new shows with clever new titles and new hosts, but showing the same stuff isn't hacking it....when will QVC wake up!!!

I agree @Spurt... Nix to the panel and the surveys, just read what people have been saying across the boards and have been saying for years, with increasing intensity...

I remember on the job a number of years ago, a panel was put in place to plan a major transition. The 'suits' essentially took it over and tried to make 'the panel' think they were hearing what was being said when ultimately, they did what they wanted to do... We've seen enough of that already... And we've also seen how well that's worked...

True that the people on these boards make some good suggestions, but we are actually a very tiny percentage of all the people who buy from QVC. I'm not convinced that we represent the average QVC consumer.

For myself I believe it boils down to they got too big for their britches and started believing their own hype.  Like the star who had a few good television episodes and popularity and thought they could go win an Oscar immediately after the first or second season.

Anyone sick and tired of those two-day coupons that some brick and morter dept. stores offer in their flyers?   Honestly, I'm tired of coupons.  Also:  Some supermarkets' weekly ads are filled with tons of teeny-weeny coupons.  I need a large magnifyig glass to view each one.  Shopping at another market in my area with straight sales (no coupons) is like strolling around in shopping cart heaven, lol.

ITA .....  but by all means, please take a moment to go to those (coupon) stores' websites and COMPLAIN .... and tell them why it's preferable to shop elsewhere.

I swear, some of these marketing ideas are conjured up by twentysomethings who've never grocery shopped for an entire household!   grrrr

Twenty somethings would never recommend this junk. Then to have it over and over like the Q does. They would want variety and good pricing like other shopping sites.

They certainly don't listen to me.  I refuse to buy tunic length tees and why they offer it in the smaller sizes is just stupid.  My requirements are not the same as someone who is body conscious and desires to hide figure flaws.  It seems incomprehensible to me that designers like IM and Logo continue to measure their garments as if we all want to wear a tent or anything A-line.   I don't require that and it should be evident by the small size that I order and have always ordered since 1996.   The requirements of smaller bodied women are not the same as larger bodied women.   Don't get me started on the elephant sized pockets IM puts on the backside of his jeans.

I wonder what % of QVCs customers are your same body type? Since almost everything that is left when clothes go on clearance are xs or s - I'm thinking that number is very low. QVC has a certain base customer and they are older women who are post meno and have figure flaws. Many plus women appreciate that they can buy clothing on QVC that has some style, and, to be honest , I think they drive the designs because they buy much more than any other sizes. The plus sizes sell out faster than any others. At QVC you vote for what you want to buy with your dollars.

@151949    @Lovingq

I agree about all the clearance clothing in ultra small sizes.   However ...  unless I have amnesia, QVC has always had a variety of fitted, semi-fitted and looser clothing.    They don't sell "tents" exclusively!

Plus, I don't recall them ever specializing in tighter, edgier, avant garde fashion and catering to XXS, XS and S clothing.    That's not their target market.

They sell a lot of basics, classics and casual clothing.   If  @Lovingq isn't finding what she wants on the Q, there are plenty of other online retailers and B&M stores to shop at.

I think what the QVC clothing buyers base their decisions on, in great part, is "what sells best on the clothing shows?".     If you're not finding what you want, just shop elsewhere.

 ???   Are we talking about the same thing?   I read your post twice, and don't believe you even read what you were commenting on.

I was replying to Romary about supermarket shopping.

Re: Maybe, if they just listened to their customers

'I must say' that the Q has been listening to customers who like to see Medium sized models.   I've been noticing Bonnie, and several other Medium sized models.   Which is nice, being that there are thousands of women in sizes between XXS and Large/XL, Plus.  Medium is 'right in the middle', more or less.  Probably very mainstream, so to speak.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I wholeheartedly agree once the "suits" get involved they tend to steer people to things that the Execs have already planned (but their solutions weren't the kind of things that would actually solve the problems)...

I saw a very interesting interview from a woman that had worked with a popular woman's magazine and she told how they would spread "propoganda" or sell "a mood" or a lifestyle/environment to create a fantasy world that women wanted to be part of ....the magazine did it just to sell products......and of course when the women "bought into it all" it didn't really work out like the magazine pictured it ......she even said how they made up testimnials that were supposed to be from other women.......It kinda reminded me of QVC and their sales gimmicks.................

The people here that are providing the suggestions/feedback and opinions do reflect a majority of QVC customers because it coincides beautifully and explains QVC's poor financial results!!!  (people who aren't watching or buying as much these days)........   If the "God's in heaven and QVC's right with the world QVC fans" were the majority, then instead of declines in revenue QVC would be seeing a nice profit....
