Married at First Sight (the experiment)

Did anyone watch this show and if so, what did you think?

I didn't like the "bride" at the end of the show. They only showed one couple about to get married. The rest are on the next show.

I think he deserved better than her. She never looked him in the eye at all. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Try once more next week. That's when this ""bride"" will either say yea or nay and the next couple will have a go at it.

Myself???? I think it's kind of stupid but somehow it got recorded and I gave it a try.....

Re: Married at First Sight (the experiment)

I watched it. The first couple they're showing getting married reminded me of Jamie and Doug. She thought he wasn't attractive and wasn't into the marriage at all in the beginning. And now they're so in love. I expect a similar outcome with this couple we saw first in the second season.

I thought the contestants are more superficial this time around -- the women -- than last time. We'll see....

I'm gonna watch it for the whole season, so I'll participate in this or whatever thread gets started each week. THANKS for starting this one!

They're showing this season on both A&E and FYI networks so maybe they'll get more viewers. I hope so!

Deb: Are you saying this is the second season???? I have never heard of this show before and just happened upon it. I kind of feel sorry for the guy because he's helping take care of his neice, who lost both her parents and lives with his mother.

I'm off to bed now but will be back tomorrow in case you are still here.Smile

I DO like the couple where the girl is a Pharma Drug Rep. and the guy is an ER trauma nurse. He is very good-looking and she is too..... I hope they make it.

I'm obviously not Deb, but yes, this is the 2nd season. They started with 3 couples the first season. Jamie (who was previously on the Bachelor) and Doug, Cortney and Jason and Monet and Vaughn. Money and Vaughn decided to divorce after the 6 weeks were up; IMO, Vaughn was a complete MCP and Monet deserved much better.

Jamie wasn't attracted to Doug at all and it was rough going; now they are very happily married and doing well. Cortney and Jason have their moments, but I think they will make it as well. They are now showing Monet during her dating process, but we haven't seen anything about Vaughn.

Hope this helps.

Re: Married at First Sight (the experiment)

HisElk: Thanks for the update. I am now up-to-date. I usually have TLC on during the day just for background noise and must have seen a promo for this show and put it on Season Pass - otherwise I never would have seen it. I never watch A&E unless something is recorded and I just noticed that it was on A&E.

I am curious to see if this first couple makes it. I like the guy because he's very family-oriented. Don't know about her though.

Why can't they just get an annulment after the 6 weeks are up???? Why bother with a divorce??? Whether or not the marriage is consummated or not, is nobody else's business, right???{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

About the annulment question I don't know but maybe the laws where they live (NY) wouldn't work for annulment?
