Re: Married at First Sight (the experiment)

I just watched the marathon of the 1st season recently. I hadn't seen it before and actually enjoyed it.

I'm going to try watching season 2, if i can remember what night it's on.

The thing that I didn't like about season 1 was how quickly some of the couples started a sexual relationship - on the wedding night, the first day the ever met each other.

I'm no prude by a long shot, but that was just icky to me.

Re: Married at First Sight (the experiment)

I don't hold out much hope for this first couple, even if she does say "I do". He expressed a hope that she will move into his family home with his mother and niece. Bad idea.

That he would think that would work seems evidence that he's missing a cog even if he is wonderful in many other ways.

True. He does have a lot of "baggage'. The mother doesn't look too "easy" to live with but he does feel this obligation to his niece. I think he's a really good guy but it's also not fair that the girl (bride) doesn't know all this about him. Notice, his mother immediately said 'you can live here' when he announced he was getting married...... LOL - yeah, like that would work...

I know if it were me, all living under the same roof would not be for me. And I think he's a realtor if not mistaken. Certainly, he could find a place for both of them to live. I don't think that's an ideal thing and it would be too close for comfort for me.

All true. I forgot he was in Real Estate. I hope he's a successful realtor....

Re: Married at First Sight (the experiment)

I think the show is intriguing, mainly because of the statistics about arranged marriages.

In the first season, if I recall correctly, Doug was unemployed and living with his parents when he and Jamie married. Just like this fellow having the notion that they might live with his mother, those were things they worked out. And they do seem to be finding happiness and success so far.

It seems to me the 4 "matchmakers" have excellent credentials and do seem personally invested in positive, long-lasting, loving relationships... (but who knows, it's a tv show...{#emotions_dlg.laugh}).

Regarding the 4 professionals, they really seem to be "there" for all of the couples whenever they need to talk or get help once married.

We are really enjoying the show and watching all of their journeys in this new and different way of matching people.

I also saw that there were over 7000 people who applied for the 2nd season. Wow!
