Whereas the man’s wife? Was she even home?
There was no mention of the wife being home or not.

Unfortunately, monsters like this don't get tough enough sentences and they go on later to commit a more horrific crime.

Wow... First time I'm reading about this. It's ever parent's worse nightmare. Thank heavens for the girl who called her parents and remained awake. We didn't let our girls go to sleepovers. They only ones they went to were in the home of our friends who were as close family. We hosted sleepovers.

Despicable, frightening and I hope this man gets his just punishment in jail. Thankfully the girls were able to notify their parents and get out safely. I feel sorry and concern for the daughter, an investigation by social services needs to be done.

My kids are in their 20's but I did not allow sleepovers for this exact reason (and I know others disagree). You never know who you can trust and it's not just parents but older siblings or friends of other siblings. It's just not worth the risk.

Less than two months after the August incident, Meyden and his wife divorced after 16 years of marriage and two children.
@KingstonMom why is this story coming out now 7 months after the fact?
No mention on how old any of the girls were at the time except in the post topic?

For whatever reason, the report just came out & People magazine printed it.
My post is copy/paste from People magazine.
The Police just reported his charges last week.
I just wanted to let others with young children be aware.

NYPost: Creepy new details emerge in nightmare sleepover where dad allegedly served drug-laced mango smoothies to 12-year-old girls.
None of the girls or their families were particularly close with the Meyden family or had been at their home before the sleepover, which Meyden had arranged because his then-wife’s primary language is Japanese, the affidavit said.

I read about this and as a Grandmother to 2 young Granddaughters, I was so upset about this. I am so glad the one young girl did not drink hers and was able to see what was going on and make that call or text...
Who knows what could have happened otherwise? You have to wonder where his wife was? sleeping? Maybe he drugged her too..??
What a "sicko"....This all could have turned out so much worse...
