Now that I think of it, didn't they start to encase the perfume samples in little peel off pouch like squares?  You could peel off the top portion and swipe on your wrist?

I think those were better.  I miss getting magazines, but found I just reached an age where the ones I had been njoying for years, were just too young for me and I couldn't relate to what they were showing anymore.  In-Style was a favorite but I guess I just out-grew it.

This is one of the reasons I quit most of my magazine subscriptions.  That and the fault they have moved on with their styles, I guess I haven't.

Several years ago I subscribed to Cosmopolitan, I called their customer service and was able to subscribe to their magazine without the perfume inserts.. sure made a difference with my allergic rhinitis..

I guess they don't have "scratch-and-sniff" any more?

I like that Cosmo still offers that!   I wrote one of my mags to ask about a scent-free version and, while they did not have that option, they did extent my subscription for the inconvenience.  But then I noticed that they really dropped off with the perfume cards, so it has worked out well.

I have also quit a couple of magazine expressly due to the perfume cards.   I have asthma and they really take me down.

Oddly, one of them kept sending me issues.  I contacted them again asking how the heck I can cancel this subscription.  They said that I would not get any money back.  I told them I did not care about that and I totally understand that, but please cancel and they finally did.

The peel-away samples on one page still penetrate the other magazine pages.

I have to hang the magazines outside to 'air out', 'but still'..............

Probably better to encase the samples in clear plastic, all together.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: Magazine with Perfume Samples!

When I had a subscription to O magazine I did contact Customer Service and they sent me magazines with no samples and it was great.  I dont get that anymore or any magazine. I dont buy them in a store either, I just go to the Magazine websites Smiley Happy

Re: Magazine with Perfume Samples!

The customer service website of most magazines has a link to request perfume sample-free issues. I subscirbe to Good Housekeeping and Country Living and have utilized the request link on both. Now if I could get Ulta, Macy's and JCPenney to stop including them in their circulars. Those usually end up in the garbage bin and don't make it in the house.
