This is just my opinion but I will never sign up or agree to those automatic renewals. I think they will just keep charging you forever if you don't notice and cancel. If I decide to renew my magazine, I will just send a check every year.

I ordered one year of Readers Digest large print since there are few magazines available in large print. I went three months with nothing, then three issues in a bag all at once....and a notice I would be auto- renewed.....I never authorized or ordered that! I am going to call them on the phone and demand they stop the subscription altogether if they won't stop auto- renew. .Apparently most print mags are doing this now. It's a scam. I ordered it since I must use large print and then I donate them to the rehab facility where my mother lived before she passed. The residents love having books or mags in large print to hold and read.

I only subscribe to Victoria (I love the English Victorian teas), and Yankee Magazine. I have to check and make sure I'm getting the current issues. Sometimes I forget about them, then they arrive. I love them both, and I don't remember having any bad luck with delivery.

My last subscription was Woman’s Day.  Was about $5 and the auto renewal was almost $35.  Crazy.  Cancelled, and none left now.  I always loved the Nov-Dec issues, but now I just support my local library, they sell old issue for .25 cents!  I always try to pick up several holiday issues.  You can read the current issues for free, and the “book nook” sells paperbacks, magazines, dvds and drinks and snacks.  (all super reasonable).

I did hear that Martha Stewart Living was ceasing print soon.  Loved that for years.  Our local newspaper now only prints twice a week.  Our city once had two daily newspapers.  Sad sign of the times.
