Re: MY YEARLY ROSE OF TRALEE THREAD

Only about 15 minutes left for this show.....then it will be SG again.

But never fear, there will be one more RofT show to watch.  I will be here for that show, and hope you will too.....

@ShowMe SHOW ME!  So great to see you girlfriend.  I didn't realize the Rose of Tralee was now!  I thought it was going to be in October for some reason.  If I wouldn't have spotted this thread I would have missed it.  I was over on TV boards looking for the housewives thread and spotted this one.

@Shout outs to @shell garden and @dooBdoo@  (looks like my @shell garden isn't going to work but anyway howdy if you come back by. )

Don't know if I will remember to check out the show tomorrow morning or not. The Irish shows just aren't the same anymore.   Anyway I think of you often, sweet ShowMe.

Hi, @scotttie!    Always such a pleasure seeing you drop by!   I agree, the Irish shows aren't the same as before...   not enough new products, and with the shows scattered through the day it's easy to miss them altogether.    Take care!

Hey there!   Sorry I missed you, @ShowMe!    Things are usually pretty quiet here in the wee hours of the night/morning from what I've seen.    There will be more viewers and posters up and around tomorrow, probably.   I'm watching the show and enjoying the musical, lilting Irish accents.    Sweet dreams, to all who are off to bed.

@dooBdoo........morning.  At least I had a good night's sleep.  Missed the next show too, but will be here for the rest of their shows.  Right now I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee of the day.

Hi, again, @ShowMe!   Good afternoon!❤️   I was able to catch up on some sleep and get a few errands done.   I've seen bits and pieces of the shows.    Did you see the Belleek castle cannister?   I thought of your beautiful lamp when I saw that presented.   Hope you're enjoying the shows.

I hope you enjoy it, @Laura14!   I think you will.   I have one my DH brought back from Ireland when he was on a bike tour there and I really do love it when the weather turns chilly.

@dooBdoo  Me too!  I'm excited to get it and try it on.

I'm jealous for those of you that can watch.  I'm still at work so it will be later today until I get to enjoy the shows.

Love the sweaters!  I am not feeling the line up of products though based upon the past show selections.  I've loved in past years where there were blocks of shows.....belleek, then the sweaters, then jewelry...it just seems that it is more of a hodgepodge of stuff...

@ShowMe - how are you feeling today???

Hi, @MickD!   Aren't the sweaters pretty?   The merino wool is so soft.   I agree with you, I don't like the way they arrange the shows now with the wide variety spread through.  I think sales would be better with the product-specific hours, the way they used to be organized.   But, then, I'm no expert in this sales stuff.

So glad you got to catch up on sleep....and my, even got some errands done.

Yes, I did see the castle cannister.  Would loved to have gotten it, but really don't have any place I could put it right now.

You know I am enjoying the shows.  Am still thinking about the Inis fragrance......  Keep my fragrance bottles on a shelf in the linen closet, that way no light hits them except when I bring one out to put it on.

That's why these shows are on in the off hours.  A handful of women here seem to enjoy them but don't buy anything.  That's the problem, this show isn't popular with QVC shoppers overall and it isn't profitable.  It's just mass produced that they sell in the tourist shops.  People don't seem to understand that you can't just sit back and enjoy these specialty shows, you have to support them by purchasing items every year.  Qvc isn't in the entertainment business.  If a line or an event isn't profitable, they can't continue.  Although it's apparent that this is the last of the Rose of Tralee shows.

@chrystaltree - for many many years, the participants on the thread were sharing the fun of watching AND BUYING on the Irish programs.  Lots of merchandise sold.  A few years back, the Q did to the Irish shows what they've done to the rest of their product lines which is to neglect them.  They bring back the same products over and over and over.

Fewer than half dozen new items to choose from and basically throw away time slots.

Yes, the death knell is ringing for the Irish products, shows and fun on QVC.

@chrystaltree and @Buck-i-Nana,  you make good points.   From reading recent news articles about the various home shopping networks, their sales figures, etc., it seems the trend is sharply moving away from shopping via tv shows and much more toward their online sales.    I do remember when we saw unique products on QVC or HSN, but gradually it became so easy to find the same -- and more -- items in catalogs (I know, also old school!) or online.    And I do think they "neglect" the Irish products by having little in the way of new merchandise and by making each block of programming a grab bag of product types instead of dedicated hours to garments, or jewelry, or home goods.    I love the charm of the vendors, and I do think it's a selling point...  but still not enough to keep these shows going.

Hi @ShowMe Smiley Happy

I'm going to have to go look at the individual items in the preview, they don't show on the iPad.

Hope it's a good day for you!

Hi, @Noel7!   I see the same views on my iPad as on my iMac.   I wonder if you have the text only view chosen instead of the gallery or list view?
