When Penny's husband was pushing her around in the wheelchair, I was thinking, "What would happen if he keeled over from a heart attack?" I feel sorry for her little son.

These people are bedridden and can't get their own food. I don't get the enablers who bring them all the wrong food. What can happen to them if they refuse to go out for fast food. The fat ones can't get out of bed. It's mind-boggling to me. Penny's husband has to stop what he's doing and worry about his kid. Nevermind that she's clipping coupons. How foolish to run around to different stores with coupons. So, she has a big mouth. So what???? LOL Feed her lettuce......

I totally agree. So what if she demands the food she wants. You give her healthy stuff, shut the door and let her yell. She cant get up...

I thought it was kind of funny when Penny's husband tried to call her from the grocery store to find out which thing she wanted him to buy & she didn't answer the phone! It's not like she can say she was away from the phone & was off doing something, since she can't get out of the bed! When they said she only gets up from the bed every 2 months, I was thinking it could get stinky in there.

I would never enable someone who chose to eat themselves into bed. I would say, if you are hungry enough... get out of bed. They would only get healthy low calorie food that I would bring them. Perhaps they would need to lose a few pounds. If they are not challenged and just left to eat themselves to 1000 pounds because of enablers, and end up having to have the wall of the house torn out to get them to a hospital, what good is that doing them? Usually I notice on these shows that the enablers are also obese and eat poorly.

Could you image having to "clean" up for them... OMG! They can not even make it to the bathroom.... or clean themselves. If that is not a wake up call to stop overeating what would be? How in the world would or could someone allow themselves to get to this point? It is a mental sickness that is for sure.

Pennys husband and son are normal weight. There was one girl whose mom tried to Love her with food. The doctor told her that he had to keep the mother away from the daughter because she was sabotoging her. Some have normal weight enablers.
