On 9/16/2014 ID2 said:I've never really been a fan of "The View". But now that Babs is gone I thought I'd give it another try yesterday. I couldn't believe as Whoopie was introducing all the hosts and as soon as she got to Nichole she was introduced as "the republican". Huh? Why not introduce each of the other hosts as democrats? Wow this show hasn't changed. Sigh. I surely won't be watching. The political opinions of this show drives me insane. I don't watch a talk show to hear the hosts fighting about politics! Oh well. Sorry I never even noticed the set.
I saw a clip on ABCnews.com and Nicolle introduced herself as 'the Republican'. I don't know if Whoopi mentioned it as well because I didn't see the whole show. Regardless, it kind of annoyed me, because it shows that if you're a Republican on that show, you're the odd man out, and no matter what your opinions are on a million other topics, you're still known as 'the Republican'. They want viewers to think that everyone else in the world is a Democrat and aren't they wonderful for celebrating diversity by allowing a lone Republican on their panel!
I like Nicolle, so I'll give it a shot, but I hope they can treat everyone the same and that Nicolle doesn't have to listen to a bunch of partisan digs every time she opens her mouth. Time will tell...

I think the set looks light and airy. I watched the whole thing today. Only saw the first part yesterday. It seems that there is a concerted effort to stay on topic and also to not interrupt or talk over one another as has happened in the past. I like the combination of people. Nichole Wallace is a welcomed addition, not because I agree with anything she says, but because she presents her points in a calm, non shrill manner. Love Rosie P's New York accent. Rosie O seems restrained and serious, possibly because of her life changing health scare and the fact she is probably just glad to be alive. Whoopie is trying extra hard to keep everyone on task.
As for the political talk, I don't consider someone voicing an opinion a dig. And for the record, both sides can give as good as they get. I've seem them all in action on other shows as well as this one.

Just saw day 2 and liked it. I see that they didn't use Swift's ""shake it off"" this time. I guess they'll be rotating their opening music.

I think that it needs a year-round color palette and look, and a NYC vibe for sure.
It looks too L.A. for me.

I think it looks pretty nice. I'm really not an interior decorator so I suppose it matters not what I think, but it is pleasant to the eye. Colorful, but not overwhelmingly so.

bring back the large sofa when guests are on!
it looks so strange to see whoopi and rosie interviewing neil patrick harris while they are sitting in chairs......and the chairs dont even look comfortable!
does the size of the audience look smaller?

I looked at the set closely this morning. It looks like a cartoon version of a set or room. I like a more comfortable ""real"" feel.
