Re: Long time lurker...my first post. Warning...sad

mom2kittys

I can relate to all of the pain and heartbreak that you're dealing with right now because exactly one week ago today I had to send my beloved Calico kitty,Sophie,to The Bridge.

Even though I have four other kitties (all rescues..as was Sophie) the cottage is not the same without her gentle, loving presence in it.

Please find solace in the fact that Jasmine knew how much she was loved, that she was surrounded with that same love when you sent her to The Bridge with dignity and in peace and that she's now running like a kitten with Little Man and all of her new friends, like my Sophie, thru the sunlit meadows of that most blessed place on the other side of The Bridge.

My boy, Rick, will be 17 in July. I had him and his twin sister since they were 3 months old. She passed a few years ago. Rick and I miss her a ton, but we laugh at all the goofy things she used to do. Laughter will come with time. Sorry for your loss.

I know how you feel. I had 3 sick st benards all had to be put down but the 3rd died in my arms in the middle of an epileptic fit. My basset hound was so ill he could not eat so he starved to death. broke my hart. my father refused to put hi down and so he died of starvation. I cried and cried for I so loved that dog

Yes, we do know, and the loss is so painful. Enduring the pain of loss yourself so your furry friend won't have to suffer is a courageous act of love, and I know your kitties knew they were loved. I'm glad you shared your experience. Peace and healing to you.

mom2kitties, I'm so sorry for your loss of your beloved Jasmine. I know it can be heart-wrenching to lose one of your furbabies. They become so much a part of your life. Just know you have people to talk to here, as I've truly learned since the loss of my precious boy, Webster, just 6 days ago. I am sending you many prayers and hugs in your time of need and hope you will be feeling better soon...

Thank you all so much! I have read many accounts of someone sharing the loss of a pet with tears streaming down my face and appreciate the time you took to share your experiences. It helps to know others feel the same way and blessings to those of you who have lost a beloved pet. I like to picture in my mind all those loved pets running and playing with each other at the Bridge, like they did as kittens and puppies.
